The New Haven Register ran an article today about STRIVE, our New Haven affiliate, and how they work with other local organizations to better serve community members who need work appropriate clothing. You can read the full article here.

We want to extend a warm welcome to Matthew Canner, of Knight Equity Markets, LP and Matt Derella, of Google, the two newest members on our Board of Directors. You can read their biographies, along with the biographies of our other board members here.

We served almost 700 men in our Suiting Program year to date through June, 2010 and more than 103 men participated in the Professional Development Series through June 2010.

A big thank you to everyone who participated in our second annual Celebrity Tie Drive! We raised funds that will help us better serve men who crucially need the services we provide.

Also, a special thanks to The Thomas Collective for planning and hosting the Celebrity Tie Drive Kick-Off event. Some pictures from the party are below.

We had an amazing turnout last Wednesday night, when we hosted an End of the Semester networking event at our headquarters. All of the men who attend our workshops were invited to attend, along with Career Gear supporters including board members, associate board members and various workshop facilitators.

Workshops will resume in September.

Just a reminder that on June 19 we'll be teaming up with the Bar-barians for a one of a kind work out event that includes your choice of ten different events including push ups, muscle ups, one leg squats, one arm pull-ups and "banging the brick." Pledges are made by how many repetitions the participants can perform in one set for each exercise and Career Gear gets all of the proceeds.
