Professional Development Series

The Professional Development Series provides skills that focus on the professional and emotional state of the participants who are engaging in life changing experiences.  The curriculum of the program is divided into 4 main developmental categories: employment, financial stability, parenting and life balance.

The PDS Program provides an environment that promotes participation, discussion, accountability, networking and support.  Sessions are held in the evenings and are facilitated by professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to provide meaningful experiences to all participants.  The PDS Program is divided into two phases and placement is determined by participation, skill level, commitment and the review of data.

Phase 1 is structured for clients who are new to the program, seek fundamental skills and focused support.  Sessions include, but are not limited to:

  • Savings and Checking Accounts
  • Taxes
  • Credit Repair
  • Budgeting
  • Resume Building
  • Goal Setting
  • Communication in the Workplace
  • Stress Management
  • Health and Nutrition
  • Parenting Skills
Phase 2 workshops are created to provide advanced curriculum that builds upon the skills learned from previous sessions.  Sessions include, but are not limited to:
  • Investment and Retirement Accounts
  • Building Strong Credit History
  • Adult Education
  • Conflict Resolution Within the Workplace and Home

Success within the Professional Development Series is determined through the reporting from Quality of Life surveys which are administered to all participants on a six month cycle as well as personal testimonials and interactions.
